The Northeast New York (NENY) Region consists of Albany, Clinton, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Otsego, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Sullivan, Ulster, Warren, and Washington Counties. This region includes five Perinatal Networks including: the Greater Adirondack Perinatal Network in Glens Falls, NY; Community Cradle in Albany, NY; Maternal-Infant Services Network in Central Valley, NY; the Lower Hudson Valley Perinatal Network in Valhalla, NY; and Mothers & Babies Perinatal Network in Binghamton, NY. The NENY Region covers 16,950 square miles and is home to a population of 2,031,494. The region averages 21,337 births a year.
This region has two Regional Perinatal Outreach Programs. To the north is the Northeastern New York Regional Perinatal Center (NENY-RPC) at Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY with 19 affiliate hospitals, and to the south is the Regional Perinatal Center Maria Fereri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center (RPC-WMC), Valhalla, NY with 13 affiliate hospitals. The mission of both of the Perinatal Outreach Programs is to work collaboratively with hospitals and community programs to advance the improvement of quality perinatal healthcare within the assigned region for patients, families and communities.
The programs fulfill specific institutional needs and requests by affiliate hospitals by offering: consultation, case review, education, clinical, quality and data site visits, and review of standards of care.
